Event Information

 In this panel discussion, hear first hand from a panel of experts on how to successfully plan the departure of your business. The panel is comprised of four successful entrepreneurs and industry professionals.

The discussion will be interactive and include some of the following topics:

Mr. Ewing advises mid-market business owners on strategies for business growth and creating personal liquidity. Jason has sale and acquisition experience in the software, telecommunications, business and engineering services, printing, distribution, custom packaging, automotive, construction, trucking, consumer products, staffing, food service and manufacturing industries.  

Before joining Stevenson & Company, Jason's M&A experience included positions with Vcapital, Inc., a Chicago based Venture Capital firm, Jesup & Lamont, a New York based investment bank, and a Chicago based investment bank focused on acquisition search, business sales, and Asia related M&A. Prior to his work in investment banking, Jason worked for AT&T, and Frontier Communications. Jason has an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, with a major in Finance and a B.A. in Psychology from Indiana University. He is President of the Chicago Business Resource Group (CBRG) and on the Board of Directors for Eclipsecurity, LLC, Shakespeare Squared, LLC and RELCO Finance, Inc. Jason was awarded the 2006 Collaboration Award from the Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries Association. His hobbies include golf, triathlons, gardening, international travel and teaching private wine classes.

Bruce Leech is Co-Founder of evolve, a membership organization for business owners, helping them with their transition plans. evolve provides a comprehensive web experience through www.evolveusa.org and a peer-to-peer roundtable experience, helping business owners create value, harvest wealth and develop plans for the rest of their life. Leech also founded BTA Enterprises as a consulting firm helping non-profit organizations with their marketing and sales strategies. He also provides consulting services to mid-size businesses in helping with their strategic plans.  

Leech grew up in Troy, Michigan and moved to Chicago out of college in 1978 to work for the Harris Bank in their Institutional Trust Department. He worked with mid size companies in establishing their pension and profit sharing plans. In 1981, Leech left Harris Bank and founded CrossCom National. CrossCom acted as a telecommunications broker, providing business telephone systems to small local businesses in the Chicago area. As the business struggled, Leech started to close down CrossCom and went to work briefly for MCI in 1985 as a National Account Manager. While continuing to work part time on CrossCom, Leech approached Walgreens, a national drug store chain, to provide an electronic telephone system for their stores to replace older mechanical systems. Walgreens awarded CrossCom with a $3 million contract to upgrade all 1200 stores in a 3 month project. CrossCom successfully completed the project with only 4 staff and a dealer network of 60 companies. From 1985 to 1995, Leech continued to grow CrossCom, installing and servicing voice and data systems for large US retailers such as Wal*Mart, CVS, Kmart, Walgreens, Kohls and TJ Maxx.
